Why it's special: It's one of Audi's first clean diesels (TDI) to be offered in the U.S., and is part of Audi's push to see more diesel vehicles in North America.
Notable specs: Audi says the vehicle will average roughly 28 miles per gallon. TDI engines consume about 30% less fuel than gasoline engines of equivalent power, and they produce roughly 25% less CO2 emissions.
Due out: April 2009
Estimated manufacturer's suggested retail price: TBA. Expect to pay somewhere between the conventional V6 ($43,500) and V8 ($59,220) prices.
